Busy busy busy - Happy Holidays!

Hey! I'm going to work on posting more, but not until later - sorry. I've actually been pretty busy (for this time of year) with work. I think the economy is hitting us more than we realize...I know I have job security (if they fire me - how can we provide tax services w/out a manager?) but it might be a good "business strategy" to work me harder than hire someone new... so I think that's what they're doing. I'm ok with it - I really like my job/work and I like the people I work with. No complaints, just tiredness.

We're watching the Colt's game right now - they're not doing so hot. We went to the Colt's v. Bengals game on Dec. 7 and had a good time. Our tickets were in BFE (section 600+) but it was fun to be in the new stadium. It was our wedding gift to each other - aww :)

Things are going to be pretty busy for us going forward:
-Tomorrow night we are having the church people over for a board game night - I'm excited to do that. I love board games and I love good, clean fun.
-Saturday we're going to Ft. Fun for my dad's side of the family's Christmas.
-On Christmas Eve and Christmas Day day we are going to Steve's parents'
-Then on Dec. 26th we'll come back and meet up with my family to drive to Ft. Myers for a week. Even though I was just on vacation around Thanksgiving - I'm ready for another vacation.
-When we get back - I hit work big time.

Everyone and the media seem to be so disheartening this time of year - but I have so many things to be thankful for, I have problems being depressed. I'm actually very happy with my life right now, and I am SO thankful for that. Steve is a wonderful husband (really!) and we have everything we could ever need. I am so thankful for all of our blessings.

I hope you all have a wonderful holiday season - enjoy your time with friends & family. Love you all! Chris

Hello!

Hi all! I thought I'd try switching to this site, since everyone seems to be doing it. I may end up switching back to LJ (http://marshmlo10.livejournal.com/), but we'll see...I don't blog that much any more anyway, so it probably doesn't even matter. I wonder if there really are more than 3 people who read this. Hmm...

Things are good in my life. We've been married almost 2 months now - crazy! It feels so comfortable though. We're still dealing with organizing the house and putting all of our wonderful gifts away, but I can't complain. We put up our Christmas tree last Sunday and some other Christmas decorations (including the Willow Tree nativity set I got for a shower/wedding gift!!!) and it feels so "home-y".

Here is a rundown of our past few weeks:
-We chaperoned the youth retreat at PYOCA in November. I love being able to hang out with the "kids" - they are so fun and help me remember to have fun and not be too stressed about life.
-The next weekend we flew to Florida to spend a week with my family (parents, brother, grandma, aunt, uncle & cousin) for Thanksgiving. We had hot dogs on the beach for Thanksgiving and just enjoyed relaxing with family. That Saturday I started reading Twilight and I ended up buying the whole series and having it all read by Wednesday - it is very entertaining!!
-On Friday after Thanksgiving, we went to Steve's family's in Ohio and had a real Thanksgiving meal and went looking for a real Christmas tree. It was nice spending some time with his family too. When we got back that Sunday, we put up our decorations. A nice ending to a good week with family.
-This week, Steve & I went to our first movie in a long time (I think since Indiana Jones) and saw Twilight. I got him, my cousin & Steve's brother to start the series over Thanksgiving, so I feel better about myself - I'm not the only one over the age of 13 reading it :) Then Steve & I went to the Colt's game today! Yay for Dallas Clark having a touchdown!!
-This isn't an activity, but I have to share anyway. In the past month, I bought a new pair of jeans at the Gap. They are ankle length and I LOVE them because I can wear them with flats! According to my co-worker (who thinks she knows everything), ankle length pants are only for petites - but I disagree. If they were for petite people - they would be labeled as such, not as ankle length which = my regular ankles. ANYWAY, I am now excited to be able to buy more cheap ballet slippers and can actually wear them with jeans that don't end up being dragged in the mud! It's great!

I think that is all for now. I will definitely try to do more blogging. We are going to Florida again after Christmas, and then once we get back I start busy season again. It'll be interesting this year since I have 2 staff and a new desk - we got moved to the 4th floor from the 3rd floor. We are now joined with the other Tax group, which could be good - but I miss having my friend Lisa right behind me to chat with. Although, I think I get more done with her gone :)

I hope you are all doing well! Have a good week!
